Fight Back - City of Oceanside Cutting Back on Emergency Services

The City of Oceanside is shopping for places to cut it's 10$ million deficit. They are suggesting cutting the city's ambulances down from four to three. Public safety is the last place to cut! A few minutes delay in responding to a life threatening heart attack, motor vehicle crash, or child's trauma injury could be deadly.

Waste everywhere and they want to cut emergency services? How many times have you been to the Oceanside Harbor and seen two maintenance worker vehicles attached at the hip? They can't even pick up trash alone. How what about the pairs of security personnel patrolling the pier? They need moral support to talk to the public? Exactly how long should the landscapers lunches and breaks be? I know how long they should be, but do they?

The point is that nobody's watching! Now I realize that most city workers are conscience, but dead wood is evident everywhere. Open your eyes Oceanside City Council! Take a road trip, and go look for yourselves. Then decide where you need to cut.

I can't see what's going on inside Oceanside's city office buildings. But I suspect that right now there are cubical dwellers checking their eBay, reading the paper, cutting coupons, comparing weekends, and yakking it up on the phone. In short ... wasting Oceanside's time and money!

So I repeat to the Oceanside City Council, take a road trip before your October 21 vote. See what's really going on both outside and inside with some of your city government workers. Then decide where to make necessary cuts!
